Biography

Jenny has more than 20 years of experience as a creative professional under her belt, with experience ranging from publication production and management, to digital marketing strategy. She was also a design and editorial adviser for Rocky Mountain Student Media Corp. for 8 years.

Jenny currently serves as co-director of the Northern Colorado Deliberative Journalism Project, a partnership between academic departments at CSU, local media outlets and nonprofit organizations, aiming to tell stories that better inform the public and foster civic engagement. The goal of the DJP is to encourage understanding of different perspectives and to spark productive conversations about our shared issues as citizens of Northern Colorado.

A proud Ram with a BFA in Graphic Design from CSU, Jenny also has an MS in Journalism Innovation from Syracuse University. She is currently combining these academic experiences in her role as Instructor for the Journalism and Media Communication department at CSU.

  • JTC420 Deliberative Journalism

    Operating in the style of a modern newsroom, the deliberative journalism class focuses on actively listening to voices in the Fort Collins community. You will get to share the stories from unheard voices, address real-life concerns of residents and students, and report directly on issues related to the issues most important to community members both throughout Fort Collins and here at CSU.

  • JTC422 Entrepreneurial Journalism

    The concepts and practices of developing media content solutions for the digital age. Working to define and develop a concept for a niche communication hub, students in this class gain real-world experience as they learn business planning, communications strategy and launch potential for their own projects.

  • JTC371 Publications Design & Production

    Principles of producing publications for print and electronic delivery, including newspapers, magazines, newsletters, brochures, and printed ephemera.
