Biography

Dedicated to ocean conservation by influencing human behavior through communication.

Stephanie Immerzeel is a PhD student in the Journalism & Media Communication department and serves as a graduate research assistant to Professor Abrams and a teaching assistant for Strategic Writing and Communication (JTC300).

She began this role after working as a mentor for university students and lecturer in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Stephanie holds a bachelor’s and research master’s degree in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam.

Her research focused on influencing human behavior through both interpersonal and mediated communication methods, earning her a recognition of excellence and a role on the Program Committee.

Having lived on a sailing boat for years, Stephanie is dedicated to conserving what is dearest to her, oceans, by studying effective communication interventions to influence human behavior.
