Student Opportunities

Students in the journalism and media communication department can find new ways to grow their talents and skills both in and out of the classroom.

Student Experience

Through their involvement in student organizations, nationally recognized clubs and chapters, and education abroad, JMC students are not only building a resume, but also learning to tell their story. Additionally, the department offers support resources for students, including a large first-generation community and department specific scholarships.

First Generation Students

First generation students can find great support from the first gen community at CSU and within the department. Many of our faculty and staff are first generation and welcome the opportunity to work with students from all backgrounds. Learn more about campus first-generation resources

Scholarships are awarded through the CSU Scholarship Application (CSUSA), which is available online October 1 through March 1. Find up-to-date JMC scholarship information on the College of Liberal Arts scholarship webpage.
