Thomas Gallegos graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth MN with his B.A. in Journalism with minors in English and Management, then from CSU with his master's in Public Communication and Technology.  For his master's degree, Thomas focused this thesis on the danger of a single story; essentially showing there are multiple perspectives and ways to interpret and convey a message or idea. Specifically, he researched the intersection of masculinity and social perception on Instagram, looking at transition periods and how people expressed themselves in these times. After graduation, he continued to teach LB300, Specialized Writing as a lead instructor, which he continues to this day. As a first generation student, his passion has always been to help make education accessible, approachable, and attainable. Currently, his role as Graduate Coordinator for the Journalism and Media Communication (JMC) Department is focused on helping students navigate the complex world of Graduate School with an approach concentrated on compassion, understanding, and servant leadership.
