Thomas Gallegos graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth MN with his B.A. in Journalism with minors in English and Management. He has been writing movie reviews since his freshman year and continues to do so in his spare time. For Grad School, Thomas wants to combat the danger of a single story; essentially showing there are multiple perspectives and ways to interpret and convey a message or idea. He wants to specifically look into movies and show the influence they have on society. Apart from just having entertainment value, a movie can elicit emotions, provoke thought, and teach lessons. The way movies are used in society are crucial to Thomas’ interests and passions. After finishing his Masters, Thomas would like to get his PhD and go on to keep researching and teaching at a collegiate level, becoming an academic movie critic as well as promoting higher education.
