Biography

Katie Mitchell is an established storyteller with a background in outdoor content production. She has spent the past nine years traveling extensively seeking to understand the intercultural purpose that sharing stories fulfills. During this time, she served as the executive producer of four community-focused podcasts and created an international ambassador program for long-distance hikers.

Through these ventures, it became clear that her talent lies in connecting niche narratives to audience interest. So, she united this interest with scholarship and returned to CSU to pursue a master’s degree in researching storylistening and narrative theory. Mitchell earned her bachelor’s degree at CSU and has previously completed coursework toward an M.A. in Media and Communication Sciences at the Technische Universitat Ilmenau, in Germany.

Since returning to CSU, she has served as the executive producer of the Storylisteners podcast for two seasons.

In addition to academia, she is the head editor for hiking-trails.com and spends her holiday months traveling and hiking internationally.
