Jack has taught both on-campus and online for CSU since 2011, specializing in JTC300 (Strategic Writing and Communication). He began his teaching career in 1976 in Iowa City, tormenting 7th and 8th graders in math and science. There was an English opening in 1977, along with advising the newspaper and yearbook... and he continued advising and teaching a wide variety of English courses in Iowa until coming to Colorado in 2002. He helped start Rock Canyon HS in Highlands Ranch in 2004 and retired from the public school classroom in 2010. He was executive director of the Colorado Student Media Association for a decade, before retiring again. He now torments college writers at Colorado State University and Metropolitan State University of Denver in online courses.
