Biography
Rebecca Damenorki Sewu is a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant at Colorado State University (CSU), where she is pursuing a Master of Science in Journalism and Media Communication. She specializes in strategic communication, public relations, crisis communication, and the evolving role of AI in PR practices. Her research focuses on media influence, organizational resilience, and stakeholder engagement in an increasingly digital world.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies (Public Relations) from UNIMAC-IJ, Accra. Her industry experience spans corporate communication, media, and customer relations, having worked as a Sales and Marketing Executive at Ignite Media Group, Ghana (Metro TV, Original FM, and TV), where she managed sales, branding, and client engagement. She also served at Donewell Insurance Company Limited, Ghana, where she handled underwriting and client advisory services. Rebecca is an active researcher and scholar. She co-authored a competitively selected conference paper titled “Enhancing Employees’ Social Media Advocacy through Internal Stewardship Strategies”, which will be presented at the 75th Annual Conference of the International Communication Association in Denver, Colorado, in June 2025. She is also a member of Women in PR Ghana . Her passion lies at the intersection of public relations, strategic communication, and AI-driven innovations. With a strong foundation in both academia and industry, she is committed to advancing research and professional practices in media communication, corporate reputation management and Stakeholder Engagement.
