Description

As a social media intern, you will:
- Grow social media presence. Expand the podcast’s visibility across platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and YouTube) by creating, scheduling, and analyzing content.

Organizational Abilities:
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

Coordinate Podcast Operations:
- Manage guest invites, episode tracking, content uploads, and calendar updates to streamline podcast production and publishing.

Content Creation & Management:
- Draft, design, and schedule bi-weekly posts tailored to each platform.
- Develop engaging, SEO-optimized captions, hashtags, and call-to-action strategies.
- Repurpose podcast content into shareable social media formats (e.g., audiograms, snippets, YouTube shorts).

Research Industry Trends:
- Conduct targeted research on the leadership podcast industry, identifying audience engagement strategies and trending topics.

Coordinate Content Strategy:
- Develop a cohesive posting schedule to maximize audience reach and engagement, incorporating multimedia formats like videos, reels, and shorts.

Research & Analysis:
- Identify trends in the leadership and podcasting industries to inform content ideas.
- Monitor competitors’ social media strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

Campaign Coordination:
- Brainstorm ways to amplify guest interviews and leverage their networks for cross-promotion.

Reporting:
- Through Hootsuite or another approved tool, collect and share analytics on the reach, click-through rates and equivalent media value of each podcast episode and newsletter and their associated posts and media.

Guest Relations:
- Communicate directly with all guests, providing links to each episode along with guidance on how to post and amplify their appearance on their own social media profiles.
- Coordinate occasional mailings to thank guests for their time, appearance and help circulating each post.

Required Qualifications

Colorado State University Undergraduate Student
Journalism & Media Communication Major

Preferred Qualifications

Social Media Management:
- Experience managing social media accounts (personal or professional), with a basic understanding of platform algorithms, scheduling tools, and analytics.

Creative Skills:
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro).

Podcasting Knowledge:
- Familiarity with podcast production, editing, and promotion strategies.
