Facilities

The Journalism and Media Communication Department has:

  • six state-of-the-art computer labs
  • five video editing suites
  • an HD TV studio
  • an equipment checkout facility for student use

These spaces enhance student learning and equip graduates to enter the workforce with experience using the technology and programs used in newsrooms and communications organizations.

Equipment Room

Students can check out an array of production gear, including professional quality audio, video, and lighting equipment to complete JMC coursework. Visit the Equipment Room in Clark C241 to learn what gear is available for checkout.

Students must be enrolled in at least one fee-paying course to be eligible for equipment check-outs. Fee-paying courses include: JTC211, 326, 335, 340, 345, 346, 347, 435, 440, 460, 470, 544

Undergraduate working on equipment

Classrooms / Labs

Journalism students have access to several computer lab spaces equipped with Adobe Creative Cloud and printing services. Labs are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the fall and spring semester. Labs are not available during class times.
