The Department of Journalism and Media Communication encourages qualified students to participate in the University’s Honors Program. Students who participate in the program get to register early for classes, receive specialized counsel from advisers in their discipline of study, and meet in small seminars, with more opportunity for one-on-one interaction with Honors faculty and peers.
Students can enter the program as incoming freshmen if they performed well enough in high school to meet program requirements. Grade point averages and college entrance exam scores are the determining factors for consideration.
Transfer students can enroll in the program if they already have demonstrated ability for high academic achievement at the college level. The minimum grade point average (GPA) for consideration is 3.5.
Currently enrolled students can apply for the program as long as they have a GPA of at least 3.5 upon application to the program.
Complete details about the program, requirements and processes for admission can be found on the Honors Program website.
