Biography

Steve Weiss is a master instructor and special projects coordinator in the Journalism department at CSU with 30 years of experience as a television reporter, host and producer at various television markets including Denver and he has worked on nationally-distributed television programs for ESPN, FOX Sports, PBS and MSNBC. He also has produced corporate marketing and training videos for Ford, Coors, Shell, Campbell Soups, Toyota, J D Edwards and other major corporations. Weiss currently produces documentary programs for Colorado PBS stations and national distribution.

He has been an adjunct instructor at CSU since 1992 and joined the Journalism Department as a fulltime member in 2010, teaching classes in video production, writing, and corporate multimedia.

Weiss is also the coordinator of the RAMProductions team, a group of students producing live sports, music and arts television programs at CSU.

He is the faculty advisor for the new academic streaming platform of CSU launching in fall semester of 2023 called Ram+.

    CSU’s “Ram+” premieres in 2023 and students in this workshop will receive direct hands-on experience managing and growing this exciting new academic streaming platform providing content with a focus on CSU. Learn the techniques of on-demand and live streaming. Participate in the management and audience analysis of RAM+, social media, data analytics, program production and live studio and remote streaming.
